Monday Action: Continue Opposing the BNP
See also the Monday Action page.
Well done to anyone and everyone who’s managed to do something towards my super-popular (like over 100 visits not from StumbleUpon) anti-BNP Monday Action. But the election is still to happen and far more needs to be done. The following is a list of stuff you can do in York, but this is generally a reminder to spend some of the next 10 days putting just a bit of effort into ensuring the BNP don’t continue to divide our societies.
Tonight (Monday, obviously!) there’s a coordinating meeting at the Priory Street Centre, at 7pm. I think we can safely assume this will be repeated next week, and possibly the week after for a post-op debrief. (Before that, there’s a campus meeting, but I haven’t learnt where yet, should be on Facebook).
Friday night: Love Music, Hate Racism at The Junction on Leeman Road. £3.50 in, local bands and indie DJ’s, should be a good night. First of many more, maybe?
Saturday: Unless otherwise stated (I’ll try and edit this post if it changes) meet outside Farmfoods in Acomb for a trip out to leaflet local homes. If you turn up alone, you’ll be paired with someone, don’t worry. We need many more people to get involved in this, so please stick it in your diary.
Sunday: Expect a re-run of yesterdays trip around Heworth Ward (Tang Hall in reality). Meet Tang Hall Community Centre at 6pm.
Any more stuff, expect it to appear on this post or on York IndyMedia. If someone gives me details of stuff in other Yorkshire Cities, I’ll stick it up. London stuff also good, methinks.
